Wenatchee Historic Remodel
HISTORIC RENOVATION & MODERNIZATION
Wenatchee, Washington
This remodel was a truly collaborative effort with the owner-builder and the other professionals involved with this project. While honoring the character of a nearly century-old home in the heart of Wenatchee it was thoughtfully updated for modern living. Original features including the fireplace, trim, and hardwood floors were carefully preserved, while the home’s flow, natural light, and overall functionality were significantly improved. Renovated from the bottom up, literally, the owner-builder seamlessly integrated energy-efficient upgrades throughout the entire home while maintaining it's historic charm and integrity.
The kitchen and bathrooms were reimagined with a blend of classic and contemporary materials harmonizing with original woodwork and period details throughout much of the first floor. The result is a warm, livable space that celebrates the home’s history while supporting today’s lifestyle.
In addition, an ADU was created in the basement, featuring a separate and expanded entrance that brings in an abundance of natural light. The lower-level unit includes a shared common area with a kitchen, flanked by a bedroom and bath on either side, each with its own entrance to allow for flexible renter configurations. This additional living space is also classified as a duplex, making the property a multi-family residence as well.
