#038 Modern Toilets

While not the most glamorous subject, toilets are a necessary plumbing fixture for our day to day use. There is a substantial amount of thought that goes into the design of these commodes. On the surface they seem so simple, but deep down there are some intricate moving parts. Interestingly enough, the process of manufacturing a toilet has not evolved much over several decades. Most toilets are still made of a cast ceramic process that is not too dissimilar from the process of creating a mug or fine art pottery.
